Installing Troy Sentry Server
This article will guide the user through the installation process of the Troy Sentry Server Client.
SecureDocs Server Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 10 or above; Windows Server 2016 or above
- Processor: 4 Ghz or faster; 2.0 Ghz dual core or greater recommended
- Ram: 4GB; 8GB or more recommended
- Disk Space: 8gb; 20 GB recommended (dependent on data retention)
Prerequisites
All necessary prerequisites are packaged with the installer and will be installed if not already present on the machine.
- SQL Server Express
- No other instances of SQL Server Express should be present on the target machine.
- .NET Desktop Runtime
- .NET Runtime
- ASP .NET Core Runtime
Installation Instructions:
During installation two keys will be generated that are required to create a license for the machine. These keys will be provided to a Troy technical resource who will create the license. Once these keys have been generated the installation can be cancelled. All previous steps will be saved and the install can be restarted once you have the license files.
- Run Troy Sentry Server Setup as Administrator
- The Prerequisites setup window appears. click Next
- The prerequisites window appears.
- Any prerequisites that are needed will have a check in the checkbox and will be installed during the next steps. Click Next
The following assumes all prerequisites are required during installation.
- SQL Server Express and .Net Prerequisites will be installed.
- The installer will fill status bar green, and the Status will say “Installing SQL Server Express”.
- This can take some time. Do not click cancel.
- Depending on the machine. This process can take 15 minutes or more. It will be the longest part of the installation process.
- Once finished the installer will automatically install the 3 .Net dependencies.
- The Troy Sentry Server Setup window appears
- Click Next
- The Select Installation folder appears
- Leave default or choose the desired installation path
- Click Next
- Click Install
- The installer will install necessary files and the SecureDocs Configuration Window appears
- Click Run SQL SecureDocs Setup
- The SQL Server Secure Docs database and Valid Secret Key Checkboxes will appear. The Secret Ket field will now be populated
- Provide both the Local Key and the Secret Key to your Troy Technical Resource who will generate the two license files.
- If the license files are not available at this time. Click Cancel Installation/
- Once the license files have been provided
- Re-run Troy Sentry Server Setup as Administrator
- Click Next
- Click Next
- Click Install
- The SecureDocs configuration window appears
- In the License Key field. Click Load
- Navigate to where the license file is located. Select the file and click Open.
- In the License info field. Click Load.
- Navigate to where the license file is located. Select the file and click Open.
- In the Your Company Name field. Enter the Company Name.
- This is an informational only field and does not affect the license
- Click Check License Data
- The License Expiration and Agents field will populate
- Click Save and Continue. The SecureDocs Configuration window disappears. The installation is completed. Click Finish/
- Open a web browser
- In the URL field
- Enter LocalHost:5000
- The Login Window appears
- Enter the credential supplied by your Troy Technical Representative.
- SecureDocs Server is installed and ready for use.
- In the License Key field. Click Load
- Re-run Troy Sentry Server Setup as Administrator
- The SQL Server Secure Docs database and Valid Secret Key Checkboxes will appear. The Secret Ket field will now be populated
- The installer will fill status bar green, and the Status will say “Installing SQL Server Express”.
