Installing Troy Sentry Server

This article will guide the user through the installation process of the Troy Sentry Server Client.

Right Click the Troy Sentry Server Setup.exe and select "Run As Administrator".
  • The Welcome to to the Prerequisites Setup Wizard window appears. Select "Next".
  • The Prerequisites window appears. There are seven total prerequisites required for installation. They are:
    • SQL Server Express
      • No other instances of SQL Server Express should be present on the target machine.
    • .NET Desktop Runtime
    • .NET Runtime
    • ASP .NET Core Runtime
    • .NET Desktop Runtime
    • .NET Runtime
    • ASP .NET Core Runtime
  • The installer will automatically check the check boxes for the prerequisites needed. Click "Next".
  • The SQL Server Express installation begins.
    • The Choose Directory for Extracted files Window appears. Click "Ok"
    • The Install Setup files window appears, followed by the installation Progress Window. The installation proceeds. This can take several minutes.
    • Once completed, a confirmation window prompting a restart of the machine. Select "Yes".
      • After the machine restarts the installation will proceed automatically.
  • The Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime Installer window appears. Click "Install".
    • The install completes. Click "Close".
  • The Microsoft .Net Runtime Installer Window appears. Click "Install".
    • The install completes. Click "Close".
  • The Microsoft ASP .net Core - Shared Framework Setup window appears.
    • Check the "I agree to the license terms and conditions" check box and click "Install".
    • The install completes. Click "Close".
      • This completes the prerequisite installation process. 
  • The Troy Server Sentry Server Setup window appears. Click "Next".
    • The Select Installation Folder window appears. Click "Next".
    • Click "Install"
    • The now finishing the Install window appears. Click "Next". Then click "Finish".
      • The Troy Sentry Server Setup process is complete.
    • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Troy Group\Troy Sentry Server
      • Right Click Add Sql Server.ps1 and select "Run With Powershell"
        • A Powershell window appears and the Execution Policy Change message is displayed. Type "A"
          • The process will run and the window will close automatically.

During the Powershell process a red warning message will be displayed. This is normal.

 

Default credentials are required to access the Troy Sentry Server Administration Portal. They will be provided by your Troy Technical Resource. If they are not provided please contact support@troygroup.com
